Can an international student be a RA? Yes.
If I am studying abroad this semester, but plan to return to St. Cloud State next semester, can I apply to be a RA? Yes. Students abroad may have an abridged form of the interview process done virtually. Submit an application to be considered for upcoming semesters. 
If I am hired as an RA, can I have another job? For the first semester as an RA, you cannot have additional employment. After that, you may be approved for a maximum of 10 hours a week in another job.
Can I apply to work in a specific hall? No. Assignments are determined after hiring. There is room on the application to indicate a preferred location.
If I am a St. Cloud Community & Technical College student, can I be a RA? No. You need to be a full-time St. Cloud State student.
Is there a GPA requirement? You must maintain a cumulative and semester GPA of 2.5 or higher.
Can a graduate student be a RA? Yes.
How many credits can I take while working as a RA? For undergraduate students, no less than 12 credits and no more than 17 credits per semester. For graduate students, a minimum of 9 credits.
Can I be an RA during my first year? You must earn at least 24 credits and live on campus one semester before your start date.
Can someone with zero on-campus living experience be a RA? Two or more semesters of on-campus living experience is preferred, but not required.
How many residents are assigned to a RA?    RA's typically have between 20-40 residents on their floors depending upon the building assignment.
If I am on University conduct probation or University academic probation, can I be a RA? No. The RA is a role model and representative of the institution. A RA must be in good standing with the University to be eligible for this leadership position.
What are the benefits of being a RA? You earn skills in leadership, communication, organization, human relations, conflict management and critical-thinking. Plus compensation.
